Michaela Fanikos
Michaela graduated from Northeastern University in 2021 with a B.S. in Behavioral Neuroscience. During her undergraduate degree, Michaela completed an in vivo pharmacology co-op at Jounce Therapeutics and volunteered in the laboratory of Dr. Rebecca Shansky, where she focused on the neural circuitry of sex-dependent conditioned fear responses. She pursued her Ph.D. at Northeastern in the laboratory of Dr. Heather Brenhouse, where she investigated impacts of early life adversity on microglial maturation in the prefrontal cortex. In the EASE group, Michaela looks forward to continuing to study how the environment contributes to brain health.
